Shayna Saide is the mother of the main protagonist of the highest-grossing films Transformers, Shia Saide LaBeouf. Her son is an American actor, filmmaker, and performance artist.

Fox News announced that American actors Shia LaBeouf and Margaret Qualley have called it quits.

The split comes as the 34-year-old actor LaBeouf faces fallout from a lawsuit brought against him by his ex, FKA Twigs (born Tahliah Debrett Barnett), in which she accuses the ‘Transformers‘ star of sexually assaulting her during their relationship, according to the outlet.

The couple first met while filming an NSFW music video ‘Love Me Like You Hate Me,’ the Rainsford song.

Born to parents – mother Malki Rosen, and father Shia Saide, Shayna Saide grew up on the Lower East Side of New York. Her father, who hails from Bialystok, Poland, is a performer, artist, and barber. Whereas, her mother comes from a Russian Jewish family.

She rose to fame as the mother of American actor and filmmaker Shia LaBeouf. Ms. Saide is a dancer and ballerina turned visual artist. Plus, she is also a clothing Jewelry designer. 

Ms. Saide most recently worked in Brooklyn as a barber while pursuing her more artistic endeavors on the side.

Shayna Saide Married Life and Husband 

Actor Shia LaBeouf’s mother Shayna Saide was married to Jeffrey Craig LaBeouf, Shia’s father. Shia’s father and Ms. Saide’s ex-husband, Jeffrey is a Vietnam War veteran who had numerous jobs.

Ms. Saide is Jewish and her now ex-husband Jeffrey is a Christin. The couple subsequently divorced mainly due to financial problems. At that time, their son Shia LaBeouf was only three years old.

Shayna Saide LaBeouf did not want her son to act, Esquire reported. Indeed, she wanted him to obtain a doctorate degree. She did not stop him from working on his dream, though.

Mr. LaBeouf had what he referred to as a “good childhood” growing up poor with his mother in Echo Park, who worked selling fabrics and brooches.

The actor Shia LaBeouf once mentioned that he came from ‘hippies’ and that he described his parents saying, 

My dad was a wandering dude recovering from the war in Vietnam. And my mom, before she met him, had a head shop in Brooklyn. Bob Dylan used to come in and smoke weed. All her furniture hung upside-down from the ceiling. She was out of her mind. It was the 1970s.

Part of what Mr. LaBeouf recalls is that his dad started dressing him up as a clown in 1988, when he was 2, and putting him to work shilling for the family’s pushcart company.

It was a hustle. We’d walk around the neighborhood in full clown regalia.

My embarrassment factor didn’t exist. I had fun, because I knew that in the middle of a performance my parents couldn’t fight. So, for sure, every day, there had to be some peaceful time for us, or we weren’t going to make it through the week financially.

At one point, Mr. LaBeouf’s uncle was going to adopt him because his parents could no longer afford to have him. He would perform for his family, mimicking his father, as a means of dealing with his parents’ divorce. Shia LaBeouf is close to both of his parents and supports them financially.

Sexual Assault

Over the years, the California-based family faced its share of uphill battles, especially the connection of Shia with his mother Shayna Saide. When Jeffrey was in a recovery facility and they were staying in an apartment in Tujunga, Shia LaBeouf overheard his mother being assaulted when he was just 9 years old, per Refinery29. Recalling the aftermath, Mr. LeBouf said, 

I froze,

The man ran out, and my mom ran after him. Dave [a neighbor] came running over. I remember he had a crossbow.

Since going to rehab in 2017 for his own drug and alcoholism struggles, Shia LeBeouf said he was later diagnosed with PTSD resulting from the incident. They never caught the rapist.
