Raymund A. Berry Metropolitan Funeral
Raymund Alexander Berry, affectionately known as “Ray-Ray’, departed this life on April 5, 2023, in Florida. He was born on June 22, 1988, to USMC Steven A and Yvonne S. Berry.
Born in Camp Pendleton, CA, Ray and his family moved to Virginia Beach, VA at the tender age of nine where he attended Virginia Beach Public Schools. Upon graduating from high school, he went on to attend Old Dominion University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Business Management. He again furthered his education by attending Clemson University where he received his Master of Education in Counselor Education with a concentration in Student Affairs. He was gainfully employed at the University of Tampa where he was an Academic Advisor until his untimely departure. He was well loved and adored by everyone who was blessed to know him.
Ray was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Raymond C Berry, and his father, Steven A. Berry.
He leaves to honor and cherish his memory and to carry on his legacy, a son, Braylon Raymund Berry and a daughter, Sa’Niah Janae Carter. He is also survived by his loving mother, Yvonne Simmons-Berry of Richmond, VA; two brothers, Steven E Berry of Virginia Beach; and Richard “Deuce” Chapman, II of Wasilla, Alaska; maternal grandparents Edward “Pop-Pop” and Betty “Nana” Simmons of Gary, IN; paternal grandmother, Mary Berry of Dixmoor, IL; an aunt, Tiffany “Tee-Tee” Berry of Aurora, IL; twin uncles, Edward Simmons (Janet) of LaVergne, TN; and Theodore “Ted” Simmons of Dallas, TX; one niece Rayven, nephews Jayce and Jordan, cousins Tia Raye, Zachary, Alex, The’O, Jonathan, bonus moms Ealecia Whidbee and Tanya Astorga, bonus sisters Jakki Harris and Nakina Harris, bonus brothers Tarik Boyd, Marcus Grayter, Christopher Gales and Antonio Oliver (A.J.) and a host of friends.
