Those ever so charitable One Direction fans are at it again – what can we say, they learned from the best. Liam Payne’s birthday might be a few months away, but the wonderful people behind 1Dfansgive have already announced their charity drive for his 23rd and you can start donating right away.

The fan driven initiative that is 1Dfansgive started in 2013 and over the past three years they have managed to raise over $168000 for various charities, with annual charity drives for each of the 1D lads’ birthdays. You can simply donate money through justgiving.com, but 1D fans wouldn’t be 1D fans if they didn’t go an extra mile by organizing auctions and opening up their very own spreadshirt store. There, you can buy anything ranging from mugs to hoodies, with designs based on the boys’ tattoos and whatnot.

For Liam’s 23rd birthday, 1Dfansgive have chosen to support The Way | Wolverhampton Youth Zone. The Way is a facility built for the young people of Wolverhampton (Liam’s hometown, in case you didn’t know), so that they have a safe, supportive and inspiring place to spend their leisure time. The trained staff and volunteers at The Way aim to help young people to reach their full potential.

Liam has shown his support for The Way in the past, when he attended the topping out ceremony in April last year. The Way chairman Steve Morgan OBE was delighted to welcome Liam at the ceremony and had nothing but kind words to say about him, stating that “Liam is Wolverhampton’s most inspirational young role model. His ambition, resilience and determination has led him to achieve phenomenal success in the music industry. As one of Wolverhampton’s own, we are truly grateful to Liam for recognising the benefits The Way will bring to the young people of the city. His involvement will raise the spirits of our young generation and inspire them to aim high and reach their full potential.”

We couldn’t have said it better ourselves.

Payno himself added that he’s keen to give something back to the city that gave him a start in life and that he can’t wait to see The Way develop, calling the benefits that an initiative like The Way will bring “unparalleled”.

We’re happy to see One Direction fans inspired by the boys’ constant involvement with charity and we have no doubt that 1Dfansgive will reach their goal of raising $10000 in time for Liam’s birthday on August 29.
