Miley Cyrus and her boyfriend Cody Simpson have put plans to visit Australia on hold due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The news comes as it was learned that Tom Hanks and Rita M

iMiley, 23, was scheduled to hold a bushfire relief concert in Melbourne, Australia after the country was ravaged by wildfires. The concert was scheduled by World Tour and was supposed to kick off on March 13, 2020. The official World Tour Instagram site shared a statement announcing that Miley was pulling out and that the concert would be canceled. Additionally, Cody Simpson was set to appear at the Crowne Plaza Coogee Beach on March 12, 2020, but he has canceled the event. Both Miley and Cody will be staying stateside.

World Tour shared the following announcement on their official Instagram page.

“We are very sad that Miley Cyrus has announced that she will not be travelling to Melbourne and that as a result the World Tour Bushfire Relief concert at Lakeside Stadium on Friday 13th March can no longer go ahead. All fans will receive a full refund and will be contacted by Ticketek shortly.
World Tour’s Saturday night show with Robbie Williams will still be going ahead, and we look forward to bringing Melbourne a fantastic night of entertainment. Robbie is already on his way to Australia.”

Additionally, representatives for the Crowne Plaza Coogee Beach Event released a statement confirming Cody Simpson’s cancellation.

“Cody Simpson’s trip to Australia and subsequent appearance in Sydney at the Estate launch on March 12 has been canceled in response to the current global health crisis.”

Miley Cyrus also shared a message on Twitter where she expressed her sadness and disappointment that she wouldn’t make it to Australia for the benefit concert. You may see that tweet below.
