Jason Segel is best known for his comedic genius in movies like ‘Forgetting Sarah Marshall’ or the television show ‘How I Met Your Mother’. That’s about to all change with Segel’s newest role. According to The Huffington Post, Segel is all signed to play David Foster Wallace, who committed suicide in 2008, in the upcoming film ‘The End of the Tour’.

Segel will play alongside Jesse Eisenberg, who will play David Lipsky, the Rolling Stone reporter who took a five day trip with Wallace that became the subject of an article in the magazine. The movie will be directed by James Ponsoldt and was written by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwrist Donald Margulies. It is an adaptation of the book ‘Becoming Yourself’. The book charts his position on popular culture, success, and the depression that would ultimately lead to his demise.

This will be quite a contrast in roles we’ve become accustomed to seeing Jason Segel in. We have little doubt he has the acting chops to pull it off. For those who are aware of David Foster Wallace there was little doubt he’d become a subject of a biopic. For those who aren’t, this movie is going to be something worth your time.
