Former Model Analeigh Tipton turns Manhattan Love Story Actress

Back in 2008 Analeigh Tipton was a finalist on Cycle 11 of Tyra Banks’ hit reality show “America’s Next Top Model,” but today she’s an actress. She’s gone from walking the runway to running lines for the new show on which she’s set to star – Manhattan Love Story. The ABC sitcom is scheduled to debuts September 30. On the show, Tipton plays a character by the name of Dana, who is looking to find herself in the big city. She’s also got a lot in common with the character she plays.

“It sounds corny, but I’m actually having my own little Manhattan Love Story,” she says as she announces she is dating her costar, Jake McDorman. She goes onto say that she relates a lot to the script because she’s going through the same thing in her personal life as she is on the show.

The actress goes on to say that when she first moved to Hollywood to pursue a career in modeling and acting, she didn’t like actors. “I had all of these stereotypes about them. I moved to L.A. right after high school to write and direct. I wanted to be behind the camera. Top Model came along and I was like, “Oh, I’m tall and this seems fun. For an 18-year-old, that was super, super cool and exciting. It was like a giant adventure,” she says of her decision to move in front of the camera.

She didn’t make it in the modeling world, but she did make it into the acting world thanks to her appearance on the modeling reality show. She was given a small part on The Big Bang Theory that turned into a few more small roles in movies and on television, and now she’s starring in her very own sitcom on ABC.
