Ellen DeGeneres Gives Blake Shelton Pre-Engagement Gift Is He Finally Proposing To Gwen Stefani?

Ellen DeGeneres gave Blake Shelton a pre-engagement gift, putting more pressure on the country singer to propose to his girlfriend, Gwen Stefani.

The talk show host was testing the waters to see if Shelton is thinking of popping the question to Stefani any time soon. When the 42-year-old stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show, she had a surprise in store for him, a giant engagement countdown clock.

DeGeneres explained she gave the same clock to Jennifer Lopez this past February, to spur her then-boyfriend Alex Rodriguez to propose to her. It worked too, because a week later the former Yankees player asked the singer to be his wife.

“So, Mother’s Day is coming up, and I have something for you to give to her,” DeGeneres said to Shelton before handing him a giant clock with a photo of him and Stefani smooching on it.

“So you’re saying, there’s a chance she’s gonna ask me to marry her, with this clock?” The Voice coach asked a little confused and of course trying to avoid any engagement talk.

“I’ll call her tonight. I’ll tell her she’s waiting for you,” the talk show host answered.

Ellen DeGeneres is helping to move things along in terms of Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani getting engaged. She is convinced since the clock worked for Lopez and A-Rod that it will also work for Shelton and Stefani.

Fans certainly have been wondering when or if the couple of three years was going to walk down the aisle. In recent months both have been adamant an engagement is not coming anytime soon. They keep reiterating they are happy together dating but are in no hurry to get married.

“You get to a place where you find somebody that’s like your best friend, that you know you can depend on and trust and go through life. We’re just trying to be in the moment as much as we can,” Stefani told DeGeneres when she appeared on the talk show back in December.

Only time will tell if the comedian’s engagement clock will work for Stefani and Shelton. They could very well be engaged and are not telling fans, or they could be happy with life the way it is now. Both were married previously. It is possible they are each content on never getting married.
